WELCOME TO CAMP ASCCA

I had a great opportunity to spend a couple of days with the therapeutic recreation class, taught by Dr. Michael Hall, and the campers and staff of Camp ASCCA. Dr. Hall had seven students including our very own Esmir Guzonjic involved in this class. The class spent a week at the camp which provided a unique experience for public school special education students. The UNA students gained valuable experience working with faculty to serve campers with mental and physical disabilities from the Rehobeth School, Ashford Elementary, and Ashford High School.

The UNA students had a week long opportunity to learn more about themselves and their intended career path through connecting with and assisting the campers. It was a very satisfying two days for me as I had an opportunity to tag along during some team building exercises which included the “Dangling Duo.”
Camp ASCCA is a wonderful place that does great work in an interactive learning environment.
