LANDRY SIGNS WITH LIONS

McCook Community College Forward Marcus Landry Signs with the University of North Alabama Lions

The University of North Alabama Head men's basketball Coach Bobby Champagne announced the signing of Marcus Landry to a national letter of intent. The Nebraska community college and Louisiana high
school prep standout will enroll at the University in the fall of 2010.

"Marcus definitely fills our need to improve in the rebounding department," Champagne said. "We are very excited to have signed a player of Marcus' athleticism, but also a person of his caliber."

"Marcus has the ability to affect a game on both ends of the floor. He has been well coached and I think he has a bright future at UNA."

Landry, a 6'5", 220-pound forward, attends McCook CC in McCook, NE. As a sophomore, he was named to the Region IX All-Nebraska team as well as 1st Team All-Conference. He averaged 9 points, 8 rebounds and 2 blocks per game shooting 54.8% from the field for Coach Brandon Lenhart. McCook finished 20-11 this season. Landry had a season high 16 rebounds vs. Colby CC.

Landry joins Matt Margavio, who signed earlier with the Lions.
