NABC HONORS FOR FRAISE AND JOHNSON

University of North Alabama seniors Kenny Johnson and Thomas Fraise have earned All-South Region honors from both The National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) and Daktronics.

The NABC team is selected and voted on by member coaches of the NABC. The 88 student-athletes, from eight districts, are now eligible for the State Farm Coaches' Division II All-America teams, selected by the NABC. The Daktronics selections are made by the sports information directors at the NCAA Division II basketball-playing institutions.

Johnson, a Plaquemine, LA native, was previously named first-team All-Gulf South Conference and GSC East Division Player of the Year. This season he averaged 15.5 points per game, shot 51.9 percent from the floor and 81.3 percent from the free throw line. He ranked third in the GSC in assists at 5.04 per game. He finished his career with 1.135 points to rank 16th all-time at UNA.

Fraise, a New Orleans, LA, native, was also first-team All-GSC. He averaged 17.9 points and 7.3 rebounds per game. He scored 1,038 career points to rank 20th in UNA history.

The duo helped lead UNA to an 18-10 record in 2009.
