UNA'S JOHNSON AND FRAISE SELECTED FOR BASKETBALL NABC HALL OF FAME ALL-STAR GAME

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (March 20, 2009) – University of North Alabama seniors Kenny Johnson and Thomas Fraise are among 20 NCAA Division II players from across the nation selected to play in the annual Hall of Fame All-Star Classic on Friday, March 27, at 7 p.m. at the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame in Springfield, Mass. The players were selected by the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC).

Fans may attend the All-Star game by purchasing admission to the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame on Friday evening.

Johnson, a Plaquemine, LA, native, was previously named first-team All-Gulf South Conference and GSC East Division Player of the Year. He was also an all-region pick by Daktronics and the NABC. This season he averaged 15.5 points per game, shot 51.9 percent from the floor and 81.3 percent from the free throw line. He ranked third in the GSC in assists at 5.04 per game. He finished his career with 1.135 points to rank 16th all-time at UNA.

Fraise, a New Orleans, LA, native, was first-team All-GSC and was also an all-region pick by Daktronics and the NABC. He averaged 17.9 points and 7.3 rebounds per game. He scored 1,038 career points to rank 20th in UNA history.

This is the second time a UNA player has participated in the All-Star Classic. In 2007 Esmir Guzonjic played in the contest.
